“I have enjoyed working with the other parents involved on the PAB. We share many laughs over our common denominator, our ISU students. Come and join in the fun.”
– Linda Goll, St. Charles, IL
The Parents Association is represented within the University community by the Parents Association Board (PAB). The PAB is made up of parent volunteers who serve as advocates and liaisons for parents of Illinois State students from all geographic areas of the state. The board is involved in several activities during the year that require their attendance at meetings in Normal approximately four times each year. Members of the board may only serve for one year after the last enrollment of their son or daughter.
Parents and family members are encouraged to voice their concerns and interests to the board through the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, or by contacting a member of the board directly. If it becomes apparent that a trend has developed with a particular concern, the board will address the issue with the appropriate offices(s) on campus. The University President is a regular participant at the PAB meetings, as are a number of Vice-Presidents. With this type of administrative contact, the board is proud that the Parents' Association has a distinctive impact at Illinois State University.
