Parents Association Mission Statement

The Illinois State University Parents Association enhances the family experience by supporting special events, raising funds for scholarships and grants, and facilitating communication among parents, students, and the University.

Make a difference in the lives of current and future Illinois State students!

Support the Board's fundraising activities and make an impact on various campus-wide programs and initiatives.

Contributions made to the Illinois State University Foundation can be designated for the Parents Association. Donations to the Parents Association, unless otherwise noted, provide funding for various scholarship and grant opportunities for our students as well as campus initiatives. A finance committee, composed of members of the Parents Association Board, solicits proposals from campus in order to award various grants of up to $5,000. Grants previously awarded include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Alcohol- and drug-awareness workshops and brochures
  • Career-counseling materials
  • Body image campaigns
  • Distinguished scientist series
  • Bone Student Center activities
  • AIDS literature

Invest in the future of Illinois State University. Contribute to the Student Enrichment Fund!

The Student Enrichment Fund strengthens the mission of the Division of Student Affairs through its financial support of various initiatives, programs, and outreach activities for Illinois State students.

The fund supports various activities of Student Affairs units such as Parent Services, the Dean of Students Office, and the Office of the Vice President as well as Family Weekend and Sibling Weekend.  In addition, the fund provides additional resources to support friend-raising efforts, student and staff professional development, scholarships, necessities for students experiencing hardships due to crisis situations (i.e. fire, flooding, etc.), student memorials, and a variety of other campus programs and initiatives.

Each year, student callers from the Annual Fund contact parents of currently enrolled students seeking donations to this fund.  Calls typically begin in October and conclude in April.  The donor roll is printed in the spring edition of the In Touch newsletter published by Parent Services.

Although student staff from the University’s Telefund will contact you each year to seek your support of the Parents Fund, you can make a gift today by visiting the Annual Fund section of the University Advancement Web site.  Please consider supporting the Parents Fund.  Every gift, no matter what size, is an important investment in the future of Illinois State University.
