Ruth Goodwin Scholarship & Application

Interested in applying for the Ruth M. Goodwin Scholarship?

Throughout her career as a teacher, Ruth M. Goodwin of Wilmington touched the lives of hundreds of students. Even in her death, the legacy of Mrs. Goodwin will live on in the form of a yearly scholarship for students living in the 60481 zip code who attend Illinois State University at Normal.

Scholarship recipient(s) will receive a minimum $1500 nonrenewable tuition waiver applicable to the fall 2008 semester.

In order to qualify for this tuition waiver award, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Earned a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at Illinois State (4.0 scale).
  • Completed at least 30 undergraduate credit hours at Illinois State at time of application.

Preference will be given to applicants majoring in any Teacher Education program at Illinois State University and whose home address is within the 60481 zip code. Secondary preference will be given to applicants in any other major and whose home address is within the 60481 zip code. Tertiary preference will be given to any applicant whose home address is within Will County, Illinois, regardless of major.
